About

Lisa Kinzelberg is a fine artist based in Chicago. Known for her highly textured and powerful abstract paintings, Lisa’s latest series, "Cities of the World,” offers a modern spin on the idea of a streetmap. While each work is an accurate, diagrammatic representation of a particular city’s physical features, Lisa also incorporates her take on the energy and soul of the places she renders. Each piece becomes an abstract portrait of a city that represents community, resilience and togetherness.

Lisa's work marvels at how we attach deep, personal meaning to any particular "place." She wants us to experience how profound it is that the places have their own compelling existence in our hearts and minds that far exceeds the sum of its parts.

“Cities” has been placed into several prominent private collections, and is currently exhibiting at Casterline Goodman Gallery in Aspen, Colorado. D. Colabella Fine Art Gallery in Ridgefield, Connecticut sold out her “Cities” show at Art Basel Miami, Scope, in 2024.

She was named among the “best of summer shows in Aspen” by Whitewall Magazine this year and is the cover of PARK Magazine NY Winter Issue. She was recently featured on The Voice of New York / I HeartRadio, Miami Living Magazine, and on the covers of North Shore Modern Luxury and Sheridan Road Magazine, Chicago.
