About

Lisa Kinzelberg is a fine artist based in Chicago. Drawing from her educational background in Philosophy, she believes that great art can show us our “world” and illuminate the “awe” of human “being” — of rational consciousness and primal instincts. Her art delivers a calm yet powerful energy that gives the viewer a feeling of being centered, aware, present and very much alive.

Coming from a long line of prominent musicians and percussionists, Lisa’s creative process is like a drummer or conductor, focusing on rhythm, movement and instinct.

She intentionally interrupts lines, sculpts and composes the surface of her compositions, strategically covering and revealing markings to produce a highly evocative composition, color field and texture.

Lisa’s work is at Virgil Catherine Gallery in Hinsdale, Illinois, and is part of private collections around the U.S. She was recently featured in Hinsdale Living for her group show at Virgil Catherine Gallery; on the cover of Sheridan Road Magazine for her show at Vivid Gallery in Winnetka; as well as in North Shore Modern Luxury Magazine as a "local influencer."
