About

Lisa Kinzelberg is a fine artist based in Chicago. She grew up in Akron, Ohio, as somewhat of an outsider as her parents were from the East Coast. Her mother, a former pacifist, political activist, encouraged Lisa to challenge ideas, follow her sensitivities and cultivate her own garden.

Mirroring and translating our humanity and world — its beauty and sometimes ugliness — became the center of her artistic work. “Cities of the World,” developed in 2022, are abstract portraits of our civilization that marvels at how we attach deep, personal meaning to any particular "place." She wants us to appreciate how profound it is that the places have their own compelling existence in our hearts and minds that far exceeds the sum of its parts.

“Cities” has space within many prominent private U.S. based art collections, currently exhibiting with and represented by Casterline Goodman Gallery based in Aspen, Colorado. D. Colabella Fine Art Gallery in Ridgefield, Connecticut sold out her “Cities” show at Art Basel Miami, Scope, in 2024.

She was named among the “best of summer shows in Aspen” by Whitewall Magazine last summer and is the cover of PARK Magazine NY 2025 Winter Issue. She was recently featured in Conde Nast Traveler Magazine, on The Voice of New York / I HeartRadio, Miami Living Magazine, and on the covers of North Shore Modern Luxury and Sheridan Road Magazine, Chicago.
