“Naples”

This piece was inspired by a memorable girls trip where we rode bikes, swam, laughed, imbibed and felt carefree. The experiences we shared solidified friendships and somehow set each of us on new paths. Naples to me includes beautiful waterfront homes, manicured lawns, perfect beaches, charming shops and a bright, punchy, happy, colorful vibe. I used bright craft strings to emphasize connection, exploration and fun, because my version of Naples is a PLAYGROUND.

“Le Marais, Paris”

I was 19 years old and stuck in Paris because my passport was stolen! I used the extra days to wander the streets and find as many art treasures as I could. The crown jewel for me was the Musee Picasso in Le Marais district. This town was not destroyed by fire and has some of the oldest streets and architecture. It felt Medieval, the winding roads and paths, which spilt me into a trove of Picasso’s sculptures, drawings and paintings spewn about like it was his very own studio.

“SoHo, London”

I remember being in a taxi in London a few years ago after dinner, weaving in and out of Picadilly Circus, SoHo and other neighborhoods. Even though it was late at night, the streets were heaving with people, as if it were mid-day. There is such a delicious gravity to London right now. Every inch of every street was filled with action -- a restaurant, store, private club, bar -- it felt electric. I wanted to make SoHo, London, look like a circuit board of electricity and energy.
